Group Details
Tradeweb is seeking an Accounting Manager to join the Global Accounting team. This role will serve as a key leader within the accounting organization, overseeing critical aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process, expense accounting, technical accounting matters, and multi-entity global operations. The Accounting Manager will manage and mentor staff, partner cross-functionally across Finance and business teams, and drive accounting excellence in a complex, fast-paced public company environment. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, execution-oriented leader who actively participates in the close process and complex accounting matters, leading by example and stepping in as needed to ensure accuracy, accountability, and timely delivery.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Manage, coach, and mentor accounting staff; provide ongoing feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Review team work product including journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and close documentation.
- Ensure deadlines are met and accounting outputs are accurate and compliant with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.
- Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous process improvement within the team.
Financial Close & Reporting
- Oversee and actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities.
- Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for completeness and accuracy.
- Review detailed flux (variance) analysis on balance sheet and P&L accounts; investigate and resolve unusual fluctuations.
- Ensure integrity of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Partner with FP&A to provide analytical support and explain period-over-period variances.
- Assist with 10-Q and 10-K footnote and schedule preparations
Expense & Operational Accounting
- Lead global expense accounting, including accruals, prepaid amortization, and vendor-level analytics.
- Review expense trend analysis and identify cost drivers or anomalies.
- Ensure proper cut-off and expense recognition procedures.
- Prepare and review ad hoc expense and operational reporting for management.
Multi-Entity & Multi-Currency Accounting
- Oversee accounting across multiple domestic and international legal entities.
- Ensure proper foreign currency accounting under ASC 830, including remeasurement and translation adjustments.
- Review and monitor related-party and intercompany transactions; ensure timely reconciliations.
- Maintain compliance with internal intercompany policies and support transfer pricing coordination with Tax.
Technical Accounting & Policy
- Apply deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including:
- ASC 842 (Lease Accounting) - review lease classifications, ROU assets, liabilities, amortization, and disclosures.
- ASC 830 (Foreign Currency Matters).
- Related-party transaction accounting and disclosures.
- Research and document technical accounting conclusions and prepare formal accounting memos as needed.
- Assist with implementation of new accounting standards and policy updates.
Cash & Treasury Coordination
- Oversee cash accounting and review monthly bank reconciliations.
- Partner with Treasury on cash management activities and reporting.
- Ensure accurate accounting for intercompany funding, transfers, and investment activity.
SOX & Controls
- Execute and review SOX controls to ensure compliance with internal control requirements.
- Review control documentation and ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to inquiries.
Systems, Automation & Process Improvement
- Drive automation initiatives leveraging Alteryx, advanced Excel, and ERP systems.
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement scalable, solution-oriented improvements.
- Develop and review analytical reports and dashboards to enhance visibility into financial data.
- Support accounting transformation initiatives and system enhancements.
Ad Hoc Analysis & Business Support
- Prepare and review ad hoc financial analyses and reporting requests from senior management.
- Provide accounting guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Partner with FP&A to support special projects, including M&A integration and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- CPA designation (active license required)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or public company experience preferred)
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Experience with:
- Multi-entity environments
- Multi-currency accounting (ASC 830)
- Lease accounting (ASC 842)
- Related-party transactions
- Expense accounting and accrual processes
- Flux/variance analysis
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor staff
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally to drive and execute initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Ability to take initiative and operate independently in a deadline-driven environment
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze large data sets
- SOX compliance experience
Preferred
- Public company experience
- Experience building workflows in Alteryx
- Experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Exposure to system implementations or accounting transformation initiatives
- Experience with Oracle or Workday

- The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $105,000 to $250,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
