Who we're looking for

TFS Voluntary Protection Products ("VPP") is a major contributor to TFS profitability and is entering an exciting new phase of growth, expanding both its product portfolio and private label business lines. The Product Analytics team plays a critical role in supporting the VPP organization by delivering data-driven insights and strategic consultation. This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of the VPP business by developing the product analytics strategy and roadmap, advancing next generation analytical capabilities, and driving high impact initiatives such as pricing optimization, new product launches, risk monitoring, mitigation strategies, and more.

Reporting to the National Manager, VPP Analytics, this position is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of high performing senior analysts to deliver exceptional analytical support across all areas of the VPP business.

A key success factor for this role is the ability to distill complex analytical insights into clear, compelling narratives tailored to a diverse audience of key stakeholders, including senior executives, and to translate those insights into actionable recommendations. As the manager, you will guide the VPP Product Analytics team in conducting deep dive analyses into sales performance, pricing, competitiveness, and dealer behavior to generate actionable insights for stakeholders and executives. The insights produced under your leadership will significantly influence senior and executive decision making, shaping financial performance, product profitability, operational effectiveness, and the evolution of VPP's risk governance and compliance framework.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop the analytics strategy for TFS VPP products, including pricing, risk monitoring, new technology initiatives, and dealer incentive programs.
  • Drive a compelling data and analytics roadmap that supports long-term business objectives.
  • Influence organizational direction by combining analytical rigor with strong business acumen and cross functional leadership.
  • Expand the team's analytical capabilities to support both existing and new private label business lines.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver tools, insights, and analyses that enhance decision-making.
  • Lead the development of strategic analyses and influence adoption of recommendations that support profit objectives.
  • Oversee product and profitability strategy; support and guide the product development lifecycle and underwriting risk strategy.
  • Collaborate with data science, actuarial, and advanced analytics teams to optimize insurance product pricing, sales performance, and profitability.
  • Work closely with VPP product managers, regional field leadership, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, meet business needs, and communicate risk insights.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, procedures, and processing standards.
  • Manage the financial risk analytics framework, including underwriting risk, loss frequency, and loss severity across a portfolio of more than 10 million in force contracts.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of a comprehensive risk monitoring governance framework.
  • Validate and oversee design configurations and coding updates, ensuring adherence to program requirements.
  • Mentor and coach team members on VPP business knowledge and analytical tools such as SQL, Python, and Tableau.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and guide the team in optimizing analytical processes and adopting new technologies to improve efficiency.
  • Build talent agility within a lean operating model by developing skill sets and strengthening team capabilities.

What you bring

  • Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or related field.)
  • At least 5-10 years of experience working in the capacity of product and pricing analytics and strategy - preferably within the insurance product or actuarial field.
  • Extensive experience with SQL.

Added bonus if you have

  • Advanced Degree: MBA, Master's in Statistics, Data Science, or quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience working within the insurance product or actuarial field.
  • ARM (Associate in Risk Management) Certification
  • Experience with Python and/or Tableau
  • Knowledge of the automotive protection product / insurance or finance industry.
  • Experience with Statistical Analysis - understanding of advanced statistical concepts such as multivariate regression analysis, clustering, generalized linear models and other non-linear modeling.
