Who we're looking for

The Advanced Product Strategy (APS) team is responsible for influencing the future product line-up of Toyota North America. As part of the APS group, the Portfolio Planning Strategist will collaborate with the team to develop mid to long term product line-up strategies for Toyota and Lexus through a thorough understanding of customer needs and future consumer trends.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop line-up strategies to support the product portfolio from a holistic perspective across models and brands and with consideration for global alignment
  • Develop product and powertrain recommendations including volume, pricing and features
  • Study industry powertrain trends, electrification adoption, performance and EV range benchmarking
  • Develop a clear understanding of target customers through research and analysis, report development and presentations
  • Develop effective and compelling business cases that include product concepts, product strategy, vehicle pricing and volume image, as well as product spec/feature proposals, with management support
  • Effectively and concisely communicate product concepts and action plans to senior management and stakeholders
  • Collaborate and represent APS in core portfolio development and sales processes with various cross-organization departments, including Engineering, Enterprise Strategy, Distribution, Regulatory Affairs and TMC counterparts.

What you bring

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strength in quantitative analysis and developing concise stories supported with data
  • Knowledge of automotive industry and market trends
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously with short lead times
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills and Ability to effectively present analyses and action plans to senior management and key stakeholders.

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience with key analytical resources such as mTAB, S&P Global Mobility Registration Data, PIN and JATO
  • Experience managing research projects
