Who we're looking for
Toyota's Environmental & Facilities Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Mechanical or Civil Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to serve in a Planning capacity to develop and plan projects, alone or with support from third party vendors, then to support the Project Implementation Team as the project requires, with relevant Mechanical or Civil/Structural expertise during the typical project delivery process.
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the person in this role will support the Environmental & Facilities - Project Planning Section to provide Building Expansions/Modification/Renewals that meet business and customer needs.
What you'll be doing
Lead planning and project development for new construction and renovation projects across NA portfolio
- Support the Toyota North American building Standards related to Building Mechanical and/or Civil systems
- Investigate building industry trends, global Toyota trends and current/past building issues
- Introduce innovation and improvements for North American Mechanical and/or Systems
- Develop technical evaluation criteria related to renewal of Mechanical Systems
- Complete technical studies/evaluations related to potential building expansions and improvements including system capacity studies, estimates of new mechanical systems and schedule to implement
- Provide internal review of mechanical and/or Civil drawings from outside engineering firms to support construction phase
- Provide technical support for Property Risk management program for new construction
What you bring
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering or 7+ years' experience in Industrial Building Systems or Mechanical System Design
- Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Projects proficiency
- 3+ years' experience in cost and schedule estimating and/or construction project management
- 3+ years' experience in Industrial Civil/Structural engineering (i.e. foundations, trusses, site planning, etc.) or in Industrial Mechanical Systems (i.e. compressed air, chilled water, wastewater, HVAC, etc.)
Added bonus if you have
- Toyota applicable knowledge/experience in site planning/structural systems or mechanical systems
- Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Industrial Building Construction Project Management experience
- Facilities Operational experience at an Industrial Manufacturer
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Industry related Certifications in ASHRAE, CEM, and/or LEED AP
