Who we're looking for
Toyota's Internal Logistics Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Assembly Conveyance Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead cross functional teams at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas (TMMTX) & the new Unit startup and mass production.
Reporting to the Manager of Internal Logistics Engineering (ILE) Projects, the person in this role will support the Internal Logistics Department Hoshin as related to the senior engineering role.
What you'll be doing
- Lead cross functional teams at TMMTX & Unit (Internal Logistics, Assembly, Weld, Safety) & Toyota Montor North America Production Engineering (TMNA PE) Final Assembly Engineering (FAE) Body Weld (BW), ILE to implement internal logistics delivery systems
- Nemawashi through Executive levels
- Decision Matrix development
- Cost Planning
- Independently specifies and designs equipment for Internal Logistics processes across multiple shops incorporating no touch and automated solutions (new model & mass production)
- Initiates and leads the implementation of Shop Optimization Across Region (SOAR) safety and efficiency standards, processes, and equipment changes in multiple shops
- Develops business case and Ringi Sho (business plan) for multiple high value projects >$1M for production lines changes, building expansions, parts delivery systems, & automation
- Manages these projects through detailed project plans, cost accounting, and effective project updates
- Ability to communicate throughout the organization to ensure goals of the projects are achieved
- Uses and coaches Toyota Production System (TPS) tools to support the development of standardized work considering built-in quality at the process level
- Identify opportunities to simplify existing & future equipment designs and lead implementation of these kaizens.
What you bring
- Experience with AutoCAD/Inventor
- Experience with equipment design and install
- Experience working with contracted labor
- Automotive Manufacturing process knowledge
- Internal/External logistics knowledge and familiarity with total supply chain process
- Project management experience (schedule, resources, budget)
- This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position
