Who are we looking for?
Toyota's Body Production Engineering (BPE) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Lead Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead new model Machine Seibi project activities at various U.S (UNITED STATES), Canada, and Mexico NAMCs (North America Manufacturing Companies), including preparation of daily team plans / job tracking, provide technician coaching and OJT, lead / foster good communications and problem solving, support kaizens, ensure team safety, and standardized work adherence.
Reporting to the WTA Region 2 Seibi Manager, the person in this role will support the BPE department's objective to provide new model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
What you'll be doing
- Offline and/or online robot programming
- Confirm that new model equipment meets set standards and performs as intended
- Prepare and confirm new Body equipment at the vendors
- Support Body Machine Seibi activity at NAMCs from installation to start of production
- Participate in effective written and verbal communication with Machine Seibi Team Members, Project Leaders, Management and outside groups regarding issues that require resolution
- Promote teamwork, and improve the Machine Seibi group's skill by coaching, conducting OJT with 'hands-on' tasks, and arrange off-job training as needed
- Lead Machine Seibi projects and engage in travel (or dispatch) up to 75% to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel including Japan
- Commonly work overtime up to 50%, including weekends and holidays
- This position will be covering Region 2 (TMMI)

What you bring
- Associate degree (or higher) in a technical field, or 2 years of equivalent technical work experience
- Body Production Engineering (BPE) Machine Seibi or body maintenance experience
- Basic/Intermediate PLC Skill
- Basic/Intermediate Robot teaching/Setup skill
- Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to travel up to 75% at times (including international travel)
- Ability to work up to 50% overtime
Added bonus if you have
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Industrial Maintenance or another technical related field
