Who we are looking for
Toyota's Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Paint Engineer-New Model.
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage engineering functions of the Paint New Model team to prepare the shop for future model changes while also supporting other shop initiatives.
Reporting to the Paint New Model Manager the person in this role will support the Paint Department's objective to safely and successfully complete new model introductions and shop projects.
What you'll be doing
- Lead projects/activities that prepare the shop for planned model changes
- New Color introductions
- Coordinate and manage supplier/contractor activity, including equipment specification, job scope, expectations, safety, and schedules.
- Quality validation and standard adherence from new model planning to trial phases
- Production Support for Paint Processes and Projects (as requested)
- Safety Machine Risk Assessment & Safety Kaizen Implementation
- Creating New & Maintaining Existing Engineering Process Standards
- Report to management, internal and external, on project status
- Lead technical problem-solving activities related to process equipment and new technology integration.
What you bring
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering
- Experience supporting production in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with technical specifications and implementation of major and minor equipment and/or process changes
- Experience leading and coordinating problem solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and/or Cost
- Experience leading/participating in cross-shop projects or problem-solving teams
- Be willing to work weekends & July/December holiday shutdowns as necessary as well as work overtime as business requires
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%
- This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Added bonus if you have
- Minimum 1 year of experience working at TMMMS Paint Department
- Experience with implementation of new technologies to improve process efficiency
- Project lead experience managing activity schedules and KPIs.
- Experience writing Ringi's, cost reduction activities, and project management
- Robot and/or Vision System Programing and/or Toyopuc experience
- TBP (Toyota Business Process) in process or complete
- Experience with PowerBI, SMS-BR, N-SMS, Smartsheets, G-Alis, etc.
