This Role is Tailor-Made for You Because:
The Merchandiser (Associate / Senior Associate) is responsible for driving category performance through accurate
planning, reporting, and execution of product assortments. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong
analytical ability, and close collaboration with Allocation, Planning, Retail, Marketing, Logistics, and Global
Merchandising teams. The successful candidate must consistently deliver high-quality work on time and with
precision to support sales growth and operational excellence.
A Day in the Life:
Business Reporting & Analysis • Prepare accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports, as well as ad-hoc business reviews. • Monitor sales and inventory trends, highlight key insights, and recommend actions to management. • Conduct market and competitor research, including seasonal trend and price surveys, to inform buying decisions. • Partner with Allocation to ensure balanced inventory across stores and maximize sell-through. Product Launch & Execution • Track delivery schedules to ensure timely product launches. • Coordinate launch activities, including training materials and product information for retail teams. • Update and distribute monthly product training materials provided by HQ. Additional Responsibilities (Senior Associate level) • Develop buying strategies aligned with global financial targets and local market needs. • Build tailored assortments to optimize store group performance and improve SKU productivity. • Partner with Global Merchandising (NY) and Logistics (HK) to ensure accurate order placement and timely delivery. • Represent local market insights to HQ, influencing global assortment and strategy. • Lead creation and delivery of seasonal product training and presentations to retail staff. • Collaborate with Visual Merchandising to maintain consistent brand presentation. • Inspire and guide retail teams to achieve sales goals through product knowledge and clear direction.
To Land This Role:
• Bachelor's degree. • Minimum 3 years' experience in retail fashion merchandising. • Proven ability to work with high accuracy and meet deadlines consistently. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with solid business acumen. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with MicroStrategy or Power BI is a plus. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Flexible, proactive, and adaptive to changing business needs. • Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently. • Native-level Japanese proficiency. Additional Requirements for Senior Associate • Business-level English fluency (written and verbal).
