Unit Lead - Local Ecommerce - TikTok Shop, GBS Japan

Responsibilities

This role will lead the domestic TikTok Shop advertising business in Japan and be accountable for the overall success of the Local unit. The position requires a strong commercial leader who can combine deep ecommerce and digital advertising expertise with people leadership, strategic sales execution, and senior stakeholder management in a fast moving and multicultural environment.

Role Overview:
The Unit Leader will be responsible for shaping and scaling the Local TikTok Shop ads business in Japan. This person will lead a team, define business strategy, build executive relationships with key clients and partners, and drive sustainable revenue growth through a data driven and customer centric approach. The role requires close collaboration with cross functional and regional stakeholders across a multinational environment.

Responsibilities:
- Own and lead the domestic TikTok Shop advertising business in Japan, with accountability for business growth, market impact, and overall unit performance.
- Define the Local unit strategy, go to market priorities, and operating plans to accelerate adoption of TikTok Shop advertising solutions and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high performing team while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence.
- Build and expand strategic relationships with merchants, brands, agencies, and C level stakeholders to unlock long term commercial opportunities and strengthen market presence.
- Use a data driven approach to business planning, forecasting, performance management, and client recommendations to improve decision making and execution quality.
- Partner closely with cross functional and regional teams, including product, operations, measurement, marketing science, and leadership stakeholders, to remove barriers and improve business outcomes.
- Help scale the business by navigating a multinational and multicultural environment and contributing to new growth opportunities or future business incubation where relevant.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong experience in ecommerce, online retail, marketplace, or related digital commerce businesses, together with solid knowledge of digital advertising and performance driven commercial solutions.
- At least 3 years of people management experience, with a proven track record of leading, coaching, and developing high performing teams.
