TikTok Shop - External Affairs Manager

- Design, implement, and continuously improve governance frameworks, operating models, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support external stakeholder engagement at scale.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Listings & IPR, Regulatory Compliance, Legal and Public Policy teams, to drive alignment and execute strategic initiatives.
- Gather, assess, and communicate external stakeholder feedback, translating regulatory expectations and industry insights into operational improvements and policy enhancements.
- Drive cross-functional programs that strengthen compliance, improve governance, and enhance trust with regulators and external partners globally.
- Identify emerging regulatory trends, risks, and stakeholder concerns, proactively recommending scalable solutions and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate global initiatives that reinforce TikTok Shop's reputation and strengthen engagement with regulators and industry partners.
- Develop mechanisms, reporting, and governance processes to measure the effectiveness of external engagement programs and ensure consistent execution across regions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, public policy, trust & safety, governance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional programs, operations, governance, or process improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing governance frameworks, operational processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive alignment across multiple cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Experience managing complex, ambiguous projects in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into scalable operational solutions.

Preferred Qualification(s):
- Experience engaging directly with regulators, government agencies, rights owners, or industry associations.
- Experience within e-commerce, marketplaces, technology, trust & safety, product compliance, or regulatory affairs.
- Experience working in highly regulated industries or multinational organizations.
- Experience managing executive-level stakeholder relationships and representing an organization in external forums.
- Familiarity with intellectual property, product safety, consumer protection, or marketplace governance.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $103360 - $209380 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
