TikTok Shop - Ecommerce Anti-fraud Investigations and Operations Specialist
Responsibilities
About the team
The TikTok E-commerce Governance and Experience team is responsible for ensuring our marketplace is safe and trustworthy for users, sellers, and creators globally. We value user satisfaction and work on policies, rules, and systems to ensure quality for our community.
As an Anti-fraud investigations and operations specialist, you will be responsible for building, improving, and monitoring business processes that detect and prevent fraudulent activities in various scenarios including transactions, KYC, onboarding, and seller-creator affiliation.
1. Conduct in-depth investigations into complex fraud cases, including but not limited to identity abuse, collusion, and payment manipulation. Develop hypotheses and validate fraud signals through behavioral, transactional, and network-based analysis.
2. Continuously monitor user and merchant activities to identify new fraud tactics, emerging threats, and anomaly patterns across communities and transaction ecosystems.
3. Lead end-to-end handling of escalations and high-severity incidents, ensuring timely response, containment, and root-cause analysis. Manage the case lifecycle until resolution and post-incident learning.
4. Design and enhance operational workflows, SOPs, and escalation frameworks to improve detection efficiency and accuracy across anti-fraud scenarios (onboarding, KYC, incentive abuse, payment, logistics, and affiliate fraud).
5. Partner with risk strategy, product, data science, and engineering teams to:
- Refine rule engines, machine-learning features, and alert systems
- Identify system gaps and deploy mitigation measures to reduce exposure at scale
6. Engage with business, security, and risk stakeholders globally, as well as Legal, Public Policy, and Compliance teams when investigating cases with potential regulatory or law-enforcement implications.
7. Produce regular, high-quality intelligence reports and management summaries on new fraud schemes, emerging trends, and business impacts. Translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior management and cross-functional partners.
8. Perform other fraud-related operational tasks as required.
9. Collaborate across time zones and participate in cross-regional initiatives or travel when necessary.

3. Proven ability to analyze behavioural and transactional data to identify fraud patterns, exploit tactics, and root causes.
4. Familiarity with fraud monitoring platforms or risk case management tools. Strong understanding of risk control systems (e.g. rule engines, scoring models, identity verification, or behavioral analytics tools) and how they interact with business operations.
5. Skilled in cross-functional collaboration - able to work closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to translate operational findings into scalable risk controls.
