TikTok Shop - Category Manager/Senior Manager (Pre-owned & Outlets) - Japan

Responsibilities:
- Defining the long-term strategy for the pre-owned and outlets categories, leading key initiatives, and setting the future direction of partners
- Responsible for the P&L of pre-owned and outlets categories (e.g., luxury, fashion, 3C, Home & Living)
- Providing category expertise and leveraging your network to ensure success in both resale and branded clearance ecosystems
- Map the category and subcategories landscape (pre-owned and outlets), and define priority segments to be developed in collaboration with partners
- Acquiring partners by actively identifying, prioritizing, and onboarding qualified sellers (e.g., licensed resale sellers, brands, distributors, and outlet operators)
- Developing partners by driving and managing end-to-end partnerships, planning, executing, and maintaining category performance, including business model optimization, livestream/auction enablement, and partner education
- Collaborate cross-functionally to unlock partners' potential on the platform, drive brand growth, and adopt livestream and short videos
- Navigating through ambiguity, adapting to regulatory and policy changes, and influencing key stakeholders to drive decisions for the category

- Decomposing complex problems (e.g., trust, pricing, inventory clearance, compliance), devising new approaches, and creating scalable solutions
- Own internal projects to contribute to the ecosystem, including campaigns, product launches, and B2B initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Growth-oriented mindset, self-starter with strong communication skills, logical thinking, and analytical skills, who can manage strategic partner relationships
- Customer service orientation and experience working in a client-facing capacity
- Strong track record in leading business projects and delivering against stretching performance goals
- Good written and oral proficiency in Japanese, and working proficiency in English in a global environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a commerce platform/marketplace, preferably in pre-owned, outlets, or inventory-driven categories
- Strong understanding of social commerce, content marketing, and influencer-driven sales models
- Familiarity with authentication, compliance, and trust mechanisms in resale, as well as pricing and inventory strategies in outlet models is a plus
