Software Engineer Intern (TikTok-Intelligent Creation-Creation Experience) - 2026 Summer (BS/MS)

Responsibilities

TikTok's Creation Experience team delivers the core video production technologies across mobile platforms, enabling hundreds of millions of TikTok creators to tell their stories, express their emotions, and convey their knowledge in the format of short-form videos.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2026. Internships at TikTok aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Turn your ambitions into reality as your inspiration brings infinite opportunities at TikTok.
Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. It runs for 12 weeks.

Online Assessment
Candidates who pass resume screening will be invited to participate in TikTok's technical online assessment.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product and business teams to build new and innovative camera features for video posting on TikTok using the latest Android/iOS programming techniques
- Profile and optimize android application UI and infrastructure code for efficiency and performance. Strive to refine user experience in each and every possible creation workflow for TikTok family of video products.
- Stay on top of the latest technologies and work with our industry partners to turn the latest mobile audio/video production capabilities into the best UGC creator experience on TikTok.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during the Summer of 2026.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structure & algorithms with good problem solving skills
- Excellent coding skills with one or more programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, ObjectiveC, C, C++ or Python.
- Strong communication and excellent teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduating December 2026 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
- Experience with video shooting, editing, and posting on TikTok, Instagram, Snap, Youtube
- Mobile app development experiences on Android or iOS
