Software Engineer, Fullstack (Trust and Safety), TikTok-San Jose
Responsibilities
The Trust and Safety (TnS) platform team is responsible for protecting our users from harmful content and abusive behaviors. With the continuous efforts of our trust and safety platform team, TikTok can provide the best user experience and bring joy to everyone in the world. Our team is responsible for achieving goals by building moderation desktop applications, Low-code engine & platform, and all kinds of supportive platforms across TnS organization.
Responsibilities
- Implement web-based features, user interfaces and Node.js based services for Hornbill platform
- Responsible for optimising web performance, stability and effectiveness of web-based application pages, and to deliver user satisfied experiences
- Implement efficient and reusable front-end components that drive complex low-code applications
- Collaborate with product design, product management and software engineering teams to drive business success in efficiency and safety
- Keep at the forefront of emerging web-based technologies and trends, research and evaluate latest web development frameworks, apply new technologies to drive iterative product improvements
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- B. Sc or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields from accredited and reputable institutions
- More than 3 years of experience in developing frontend web applications, strong JavaScript/HTML/CSS frontend engineering experience, skilled in common web platform React/Vue/Angular, and have good practise and understanding of common web compilation and bundling frameworks, including Webpack/Rollup/Babel/AST.
- Good problem solving and thinking pattern in web-based system design
- Experience in development of H5/no-code/low-code/full-stack platforms is highly advantageous
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agile, quick self learner, highly self-motivated with strong sense of product ownership and creative problem solver

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136800 - $359720 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
