Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. It runs for 12 weeks.
Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. The application limit is applicable to TikTok and its affiliates' jobs globally. Online Assessment
Candidates who pass resume screening will be invited to participate in TikTok's technical online assessment.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the development and optimization of the privacy protection and data security platform.
2. Contribute to the productization of privacy solutions, including algorithms, security toolkits, and workflows, aimed at mitigating security risks.
3. Research cutting-edge privacy solutions and technologies, exploring how they can help address existing privacy challenges.
4. Support the ongoing evolution of the architecture by contributing ideas and performing small-scale implementations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
1. Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language (e.g., C++, Java, Golang) with a basic understanding of its ecosystem. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
2. Basic familiarity with classic mainstream databases (e.g., MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, HBase, Hive) and messaging systems such as Kafka or RocketMQ.
3. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
4. Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026;
5. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Graduating December 2026 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
2. Familiarity with microservice architecture is a plus, but not required.
3. Any experience or coursework in data tagging, access control, code lineage tracing, or data governance is a bonus.
