1. Exploring and developing large-scale language models and optimizing enterprise applications to the extreme;

Responsibilities - What You'Il Do
- Enhance search recommendation services and models for TikTok, driving increased search traffic on TikTok and TikTok Mall, while also improving user's search understanding.
- Optimize the recommender system based on hyperscale machine learning models, covering a range of tasks from recall/first-stage ranking to final-stage ranking in the end-to-end workflow.
- Explore the upper limits of short text recommendation and general recommendation technology, with a focus on the interaction between recommendation and NLP technology.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow teammates.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of work experience in machine learning. Good product sense with a focus on user experience.
- Domain knowledge or working experience in any of these areas: modern Recommendation, Search, Advertisement, E-commerce.
- Bachelor or advanced degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent coding skills. Solid knowledge of data structure and algorithms.
- Excellent in analysis, modeling and problem-solving, and can see the essence of problems from complex data.
- Publication records in top journals or conferences will be a plus. Experience winning ACM-ICPC medals will be a plus.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $184300 - $337250 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
