Public Policy Manager, Policy & Legislative Affairs

About the Team
We are seeking a talented, driven, and experienced public policy professional to join TikTok's US Public Policy team. In this role, you will support policy development and strategic coordination across the United States and the Americas by proactively monitoring emerging regulatory and legislative developments, advancing cross-regional policy alignment, and partnering closely with Government Relations, Legal, and cross-functional teams. You will play a critical role in strengthening policy readiness and advocacy by helping develop shared policy principles, supporting responses to external inquiries, and driving strategic engagement with civil society and multi-stakeholder organizations across the technology policy ecosystem.

Responsibilities
- Proactively track emerging policy issues and drive alignment on strategy and engagement to shape policy outcomes early.
- Serve as a bridge between subject matter experts and government relations teams, ensuring alignment.
- Lead or coordinate the development of global policy principles and advocacy strategies on key issues
- Help collaborate on strategic engagements and sponsorships with external civil society and tech policy groups.
- Own delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives, setting clear ownership, managing dependencies and risks, and driving consistent execution across teams
- Support the broader GR team by responding to inquiries and preparing policy strategies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in public policy, government relations, or regulatory affairs, with strong familiarity navigating legislative and government decision-making processes.
- Proven ability to lead or coordinate complex policy initiatives and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
- Experience supporting or developing cross-regional or global policy strategies, principles, or advocacy efforts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex policy issues for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Strong professional judgment, discretion, and ability to operate effectively in high-visibility environments with ambiguity and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience or advanced degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field
- Experience operating in global or cross-regional organizations and managing work across multiple time zones
