Program Manager, North America - Trust and Safety
Responsibilities
At Market Risk Management team (MRM), we focus on addressing risks that emerge between global safety frameworks and the regional political, regulatory, and cultural realities of individual markets. By combining market-level data, our market expertise and cross-functional insights, we develop tailored strategies to manage Trust & Safety risk, protect users, and help ensure that global safety approaches remain effective across diverse markets.
Our Market Risk Management team identifies and qualifies risks in our regional communities, collaborating cross-functionally to address and prevent potential emerging risks. As a Program Manager, you will ensure that our policies, programs and systems work together to protect users and prevent abuse across our many features in the North and Central America. You will provide critical market-level expertise, improving safety and driving strategic direction to foster trust within and outside the Trust and Safety department. You will initiate and drive projects and operational changes, advocate for policy changes, and define new processes. You will coordinate with specialists from public policy, legal, communications, product, operations and policy to deliver results.

Responsibilities:
- Produce internal reports on public perception and identified risks to inform mitigation initiatives, identify trends and work cross-functionally to develop solutions and increase our ability to mitigate and reduce the impact of emerging risks across our lines of business.
- Craft risk prevention process and strategy for the North America region on TikTok platforms with a focus on safety issues such as Youth Safety, Hate, Cyber bullying, etc.
- Work closely with cross-functional partners both inside and outside Trust and Safety (for example Content Policy, Product Management, Data Analytics, Operations, Public Policy and Communications) to identify, assess and resolve safety-related gaps or issues in our products, promote community well-being and user safety with optimization of product features and product strategy.
- Work on initiatives across various features such as Video, Live, comments, follow/like, accounts, etc. with both qualitative and quantitative approaches to detect potential risks in the community, then craft features and strategies to mitigate these risks. This means initiating and driving project definition and scoping, as well as implementation and execution with cross functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of North America User Generated Content (UGC) on social platforms, as well as the regional political, regulatory and cultural landscape.
- Proficiency in Spanish required, as you will be responsible for the North America continent, including Spanish-speaking Central America markets. This role requires reviewing content, case materials, and official documentation in local languages.
- Strong knowledge about Trust and Safety issues, operations and challenges.
- You have program/project or product management experience, ideally within a safety/risk control/anti-spam strategy environment. As a result of this you display excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
- You are comfortable with large volumes of data and able to do in-depth data analysis, interpretation and reporting, for example, using Excel features such as Pivot tables, Functions, Charts, etc.
- You are able to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
- You practise resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using SQL.
- Direct experience with T&S and user-generated content (UGC) platforms.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $93600 - $220400 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
