Responsibilities
About the Team
TikTok's Product and Risk Communications team helps shape public understanding of how we keep our platform secure and our community protected. This team is responsible for managing our risk review process, ensuring we are working as part of the product development cycle to protect and enhance the safety of our platform. We also lead proactive communications around product integrity, safety innovations, regulatory readiness, and risk response.
About the Role
We're looking for a experienced professional to help identify risks in the product development process, give strategic advice on mitigations and support product launches. In this role, you'll support our product risk review process that help protect our platform, mitigate emerging risks, and build trust in the safety and integrity of our products.
You'll work cross-functionally across product, legal, and public policy to identify, mitigate and manage risks in the product development phase. You should be a clear communicator, confident advisor able to translate complex safety, regulatory, or risk-related topics into clear and accessible feedback.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner to internal teams on product risk issues, including providing strategic counsel to product teams in the development and review phase.
- Identify emerging areas of product risk and support product comms team in developing messaging to address them.
- Provide strategic counsel during product risk reviews and support rollout plans with product information.
- Support product communications teams to build and evolve TikTok's narrative on product safety through messaging documents, newsroom posts, statements, Q&As, and spokesperson materials.
- Work with regional PR teams to support them with clear, consistent resources to address questions about TikTok's product development and approach to product safety.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in tech, safety or policy environments
- Strong track record of translating complex or technical issues into clear, compelling narratives.
- Experience working with product, legal, and public policy teams on risk or incident-related matters.
- Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to assess reputational risk, provide feedback and advise accordingly

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $96000 - $211112 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
