About the Role
As a Product Policy Manager on TikTok's Trust & Safety team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and driving enforcement strategies that protect some of the platform's most vulnerable users. You will focus on identifying, preventing, and addressing high-risk behaviors and harmful content, ensuring swift and effective enforcement aligned with TikTok's commitment to a safe and trusted community. You will apply deep knowledge of model policy frameworks and enforcement workflows to inform scalable and consistent enforcement approaches. Leveraging automation and data-driven insights, you will help strengthen detection, escalation, and resolution processes across video content on a global scale. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, strong expertise in online safety enforcement, and the ability to navigate complex, evolving challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Monitor and track enforcement performance against key metrics to ensure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze data and translate insights into clear, actionable enforcement strategies for cross-functional teams.
- Identify, prioritize, and implement strategies to reduce the presence of potentially harmful content on the platform.
- Develop enforcement signals and refine moderation strategies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Design and advance proactive and reactive enforcement methodologies that extend beyond human moderation, collaborating with product teams to enhance automated model enforcement.
- Review graphic, sensitive, and potentially offensive video content to ensure policy compliance.
- Evaluate and improve training materials, while advocating for necessary tooling and technology enhancements to support enforcement efforts.
- Collaborate with policy, product, engineering, research, operations, legal, and public relations teams to innovate and evolve safety strategies, leveraging the latest industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in public policy, political science, law, economics, behavioral sciences, or a related field.
- 3 years experience in Trust and Safety, with demonstrated exposure to child safety, policy enforcement, and policy development.
- Strong understanding of automation, model policy frameworks, and enforcement metrics.
- Proficiency in data analysis to inform and optimize enforcement strategies.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and balance complex trade-offs in developing principled enforcement strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience building inclusive and effective collaboration across teams of varied backgrounds, time zones, and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience contributing to newly formed teams within established organizations.
- Proven track record in launching innovative strategies and leading 0-1 initiatives.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional partners across multiple geographies.
- Strong business judgment, with proven ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
