About the Team
The Safety Product (or Platform Responsibility) team is at the forefront of building and optimizing content safety systems. With a focus on optimizing and advancing content safety, we leverage advanced large language models to enhance review efficiency, risk control, and user trust. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, we deliver scalable solutions that keep pace with rapid global growth.
As the Product Manager for Search Safety, you will drive the safety features and strategies for TikTok, ensuring our platform is safe for our global community. You will work closely with policy leaders, program managers, engineers, and data scientists around the world to design comprehensive strategies and plans. You will analyze and identify risks, own designing features, working with engineering to build them, testing and rolling out solutions, then continuing to monitor and improve them after they ship, keeping our users safe as new threats and opportunities evolve.

Responsibilities
- Your scope includes the safety of all TikTok Search Safety related features, including proactive search suggestions, reactive search suggestions, search results, etc.
- You will help define a safety product roadmap, set metrics to measure effectiveness, and drive cross-functional efforts to achieve success.
- You will analyze and identify risks and leverage in-app product solutions or back-end processes to effectively address risk and work with the engineering team to implement product solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of product management experience in Consumer-Facing mobile or web internet industries
- 3+ years of experience managing Product Managers
- Ability to identify, analyze and design product solutions; a proven track record of pushing ambitious product changes
- Strong cross-functional project management skills, good communication skills; a passion to unite people behind a common goal; ability to work across time zones and locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience in Trust and Safety, integrity, minor safety, fraud detection, or other relevant experience
- Experience building social networking or video content applications, or other consumer internet applications
- Ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
- Resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $149040 - $311600 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
