Product Lead, Minor Feed Safety

Yesterday San Jose, CA

Responsibilities

Our team is under the umbrella of TikTok Safety Product function, and we strive to build age-appropriate product experiences for teen users in TikTok. The team owns teen-focused product strategy and partners closely with Safety, Policy, and Machine Learning to ensure a safe, compliant, and engaging experience for younger audiences. We develop teen-specific features, optimize content recommendations and privacy defaults, and support global regulations related to youth safety.

Responsibilities:

Define the mid-to-long-term product roadmap, establish core content safety metrics (e.g., harmful content density, Minor CGUR), and ensure product iterations are tightly aligned with the company's long-term strategy on minor safety.
- Leverage content understanding models and recommendation algorithms to build a multi-dimensional safety defense system (content, account, etc.), effectively reducing the miss rate of high-risk content for minors and fundamentally lowering the recommendation density of inappropriate content.
- Lead the productization of LLM-based moderation capabilities in the Minor Feed context. Collaborate with algorithm and engineering teams to significantly improve the speed, effectiveness, and stability of safety policy execution.
- Drive the product planning and iteration of algorithm-controlled consumer-facing features to meet user and regulatory expectations, and continuously strengthen external trust in the platform's content recommendation mechanisms.
- Build and grow a professional safety strategy product team; establish and institutionalize methodologies and talent pipelines for minor content governance.
