Product Designer Project Intern (TikTok-Design-UX)- 2026 Start (BS/MS)
Responsibilities
TikTok Design Team is to provide first-class user experience for hundreds of millions of users around the world, thereby helping them create and express better, discover the diversity and beauty of the world, break down more barriers, and build bridges between people. We are an international design team with Product Designer, Creative Designer, Visual Designer, Content Designer and Localization Expert from all over the world working together to make every impossible possible.
As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests.

1. Design for TikTok, the creative short video platform that targets global users;
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, researchers, UX writers, and engineers;

3. Participate in every aspect of the product development process, from generating ideas to refining pixel-perfect designs before launch;
4. Rapidly prototype conceptual product ideas, design user flows based on data analysis and user research, gather feedback from various stakeholders, iterate on designs, and deliver products with the best user experience;
5. Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a design-related major (e.g., UX Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design).
- Able to proficiently use English and Japanese, with strong communication skills to articulate design concepts and decisions clearly.
- Solid understanding of UX design principles and methodologies; proficient in using design tools such as Figma for prototyping and wireframing.
- Familiar with the Japanese market and consumer behavior, with insights into local cultural and user experience preferences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross-regional stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and optimistic; able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in UX design, product localization, or consumer-side product experience optimization.
- Knowledge of working with Figma, Principal, Adobe Creative Suite, and OSX, iOS & Android;
- A passion for TikTok and its community, with a keen interest in local life service user experience.
