Team Introduction
The Experience team is responsible for optimizing app experience related to performance for TikTok users. This team collaborates with all teams in the video creation and consumption ecosystem to provide end-to-end optimization solutions.
Responsibilities
1. Optimize live streaming/RTC scenarios using machine learning/llm to enhance experience, cost efficiency, and resource allocation in multimedia upload, transcoding, and distribution pipelines, achieving multi-objective joint optimization and strategy coordination.
2. Build strategy datasets, identify issues through data analysis, define key metrics, deploy strategies, and continuously iterate based on new data distributions.

3. Stay updated with the latest research (reinforcement learning/federated learning/causal inference) and continuously improve model accuracy and recall.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree or above in Computer Science or related fields preferred; prior experience in audio/video processing or network optimization is a plus.
2. In-depth understanding of live streaming/RTC architectures; prior optimization experience in live/RTC projects is preferred.
3. Proficient in C++/Python; strong expertise in machine learning, reinforcement learning, or causal inference is highly valued.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Strong sense of responsibility, curiosity, and excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to accurately abstract problems and prioritize in complex technical scenarios.
2. Experience with learning-based model development is a big plus.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $145000 - $355000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others.
