Legal Operations Manager

Yesterday San Jose, CA

Responsibilities

About the Team:
We are seeking a Legal Operations Manager to help design, improve, and scale the operational workflows that support Global Legal.
Reporting to the Head of Legal Operations, this role will work closely with legal, product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to identify process friction, improve legal workflows, and translate business needs into clear system and process solutions.

A key priority for this role will be to own and continuously improve Global Legal's legal technology ecosystem, including contract lifecycle management and other systems used across the function. This role will also act as a legal-side product owner for key workflows and tools, helping drive alignment across legal teams on priorities, requirements, and process decisions.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how legal teams operate, exercises sound judgment in fast-moving environments, and can move from problem identification to implementation with clear ownership and a strong focus on outcomes.
This role does require five days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:
- Lead partnerships with Global Legal teams to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities to improve workflows, consistency, and user experience.
- Own and improve legal systems and workflows across Global Legal's technology stack, including contract lifecycle management and other legal operations tools.
- Serve as the legal-side owner for key systems and workflows, building alignment across legal teams on priorities, requirements, and process decisions.
- Gather, assess, and translate business needs into clear workflow, configuration, and functional requirements for product and engineering teams.
- Drive workflow and process improvement by mapping current and future-state processes, identifying gaps or inefficiencies, and partnering with cross-functional teams to implement durable solutions.
- Partner on rollout and adoption efforts for new or updated tools and processes, including training, communications, and issue resolution.
- Establish and maintain strong operational discipline through structured data capture, reporting, and clear documentation of workflows, decisions, and key process materials.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in legal operations, legal technology, process improvement, systems implementation, or a similar business-partner role.
- Strong ability to work effectively with both legal stakeholders and technical teams, and to translate business needs into clear operational or system requirements.
- Experience leading workflow improvement, system enhancement, or operational change in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, exercise sound judgment, and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience supporting or managing legal technology platforms, including CLM or other workflow-based systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive progress across teams, regions, and time zones.
- Practical understanding of how automation and AI can be applied within legal operations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a legal department or another regulated, process-driven environment.
- Familiarity with workflow, intake, approval, reporting, or automation tools used in legal or operational settings.
- Practical understanding of change management and user adoption in connection with systems or process improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear documentation, training materials, and stakeholder updates.
