I-9 Compliance & Reverification Specialist, AMS
Responsibilities
Team Summary:
The AMS Work Visa team is dedicated to ensuring compliance with U.S. immigration laws and regulations across the Americas region. We manage vendor relationships, oversee immigration case workflows, and support employees throughout their visa and work authorization processes. Our team collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate documentation and uphold the integrity of all immigration-related activities.
We are seeking an I-9 Compliance & Reverification Specialist to oversee the company's Form I-9 compliance and reverification program. This role focuses on internal audit oversight, Section 3 reverification lifecycle management, compliance risk monitoring, and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
I-9 Compliance Oversight
- Conduct periodic internal reviews of Form I-9 records.
- Maintain organized audit documentation and ensure audit readiness.
- Partner with Legal and HR during government audit responses, if applicable.
Reverification Lifecycle Management
- Monitor expiring work authorization and initiate timely Section 3 reverification.
- Partner with employees and HR to ensure documentation is completed before expiration.
- Escalate compliance risks related to missed deadlines or insufficient documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation and record retention standards are met.
Risk Monitoring & Governance
- Track compliance metrics related to reverification timeliness and audit findings.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
- Develop SOPs and compliance guidance related to reverification processes.
- Support ongoing education for HR and managers on employment eligibility compliance requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with HR Operations to ensure role clarity between new hire I-9 processing and reverification.
- Partner with Immigration team on status changes impacting work authorization.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to prevent unauthorized employment exposure.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
- 3+ years of experience managing Form I-9 compliance and reverification processes.
- Strong understanding of DHS/USCIS I-9 regulations and correction standards.
- Experience conducting internal I-9 audits.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Strong judgment in handling compliance-sensitive matters.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $72200 - $164000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others.
