Head of Public Policy - CEE
Responsibilities
About the team:
The Government Relations and Public Policy team covers a wide range of responsibilities: government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships. The mission of the team is to earn trust and prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats to TikTok.
We are looking for a passionate, ambitious and strategic public policy leader to lead our Central and Eastern Europe team, to:
- Continue to build and further advance strong engagement and relationships with local governments, NGOs, academia, think tanks and other key stakeholders or partners across the region to support the growth of TikTok.
- Help TikTok think and act locally: provide guidance to internal teams to put users first, and advise on public policy developments to ensure strategic, actionable plans aligning with government regulations and policy frameworks;
- Shape public policy discussions on key issues affecting the tech industry, advocating for policies that support innovation, competition, and responsible technology use;
- Lead the development and growth of the public policy team, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting individual team members' professional development;
- Work cross-functionally with legal, brand, communications, and product teams to ensure alignment between policy goals and business objectives;
- Be an external advocate for TikTok's Mission, values and principles
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Fluent in English and Polish (This role is located in Warsaw, Poland)
- Advanced experience managing public policy and / or government relations and advocacy work, preferably in the tech industry
- Strong understanding of the Polish political system, environment and institutions, as well as cultural landscape, as well as an understanding of the same across the CEE
- Established network with policy makers and opinion leaders across Poland
- Very strong understanding of public policy issues around child safety, privacy, and other tech policy issues
- A good and experienced people manager, capable of developing and growing a talented team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Established network with policy makers and opinion leaders across Poland
- The ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with cross functional teams.
- Additional regional language skills
