Head of News Publisher Partnerships, TikTok Operations

Responsibilities

The News Publisher team is responsible for developing and executing best-in-class approaches to growing the News Publisher content ecosystem in line with our business and product priorities via management, partnerships, programs, and other key levers. This team will work closely with the Product teams to understand publisher partner needs and set relevant priorities, and collaborate with the Creator and XFN teams to drive efforts forward in line with the evolving content industry landscape.

Responsibilities:
- Identify strategic opportunities for News Publishers and key platform goals, translating them into actionable initiatives that align with both publisher business models and the building of a healthy ecosystem on TikTok.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of News Publisher Partner Managers.
- Cultivate and maintain C-Suite and Director-level relationships across the top global news accounts (Broadcasters, Digital Natives, and Print/Legacy News).
- Drive News content strategies aligned with product priorities, partnering closely with Product and Operations teams to support product adoption.
- Set team OKRs, metrics, and success measures, leveraging data to evaluate performance, optimize partner programs, and inform decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams (e.g., Comms, GR, Trust & Safety, Legal) to build consistent company-wide frameworks for publisher programs and engagement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the media industry, digital partnerships, or content strategy, ideally with a focus on the News industry in the U.S.
- Deep understanding and proven track record of navigating the US and global news landscape with established relationships at major news organizations and with industry stakeholders.
- Experience building, managing, and leading high-performing teams, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $189800 - $384000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
