Group Vertical Director - Consumer Goods
Responsibilities
The Group Vertical Director at TikTok is responsible for leading multiple account groups within the Global Business Solutions organisation. As a senior commercial leader, this individual sets the strategic direction for the vertical, coaches and develops high performing teams, and nurtures a strong, inclusive team culture. The GVD acts as a trusted partner to C-Suite stakeholders across client organisations and demonstrates equal influence with internal cross-functional teams. The role requires comfort with change, sound judgement in ambiguous environments, and a consistent focus on delivering measurable, sustainable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Vertical Strategy & Sales Execution: Drive verticalised, solution-based strategies across multiple account groups. Oversee territory planning, pipeline management, and forecasting using advanced business insights to deliver sustainable revenue growth.
- Client Leadership & Executive Influence: Maintain trusted C-suite relationships with senior client decision-makers. Influence investment at scale, bring industry expertise to strategic discussions, and serve as a consultative partner for enterprise clients.

- Product, Industry & Measurement Expertise: Clarify and validate product needs. Partner with product, marketing and measurement teams to shape go-to-market strategies, support multi-layered solutions, and identify opportunities grounded in performance, ad tech, and MMM principles.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Represent the vertical within the market Leadership Team. Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners (Product, Marketing, Measurement, Creative, TA, Finance, Ops) to drive alignment, efficiency, and forward-looking business opportunities.
- Thought Leadership & Market Representation: Represent TikTok at national industry events, in media forums, and across the wider ecosystem. Deliver compelling narratives combining product knowledge, market trends, and performance-based solutions.
- Leadership, Talent Development & Team Culture: Lead, coach and develop a high-performing and diverse team. Set clear expectations, prioritise objectives, and empower individuals through structured mentorship and long-term capability building. Foster a collaborative, resilient, and wellbeing-focused culture.
- Change Leadership & Ambiguity Management: Guide the team through market changes, product evolution, and organisational shifts. Demonstrate optimism, grounded decision-making, and the ability to lead through ambiguity with clarity and confidence.
- Operational Excellence: Break down complex business goals into actionable plans. Provide hands-on support to teams when needed and ensure consistent execution across accounts.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Commercial & Strategic Expertise: Demonstrated and deep experience in advertising sales or digital media, deep understanding of ad products, digital ecosystem, measurement tools and emerging technologies and demonstrated ability to design and execute multi-layered strategic plans.
- Client Relationship Leadership: Proven ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and build strong, trust-based relationships across the client spectrum and strong negotiation skills including navigating complex deals and long-term partnerships.
- Analytical & Business Insight: Strong analytical mindset with experience in interpreting performance signals, market trends and data-driven insight and ability to connect insights to growth strategies and investment recommendations.
- Leadership & Talent Management: Significant experience managing and developing high-performing teams and ability to mentor, coach, and build long-term talent pipelines while fostering inclusion, resilience and wellbeing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience orchestrating multi-team alignment and leading high-complexity projects across product, measurement, and marketing functions.
- Communication & Executive Presence: Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills and ability to represent TikTok credibly in public and industry-facing settings.
