Government Relationships & Public Policy Manager - Anglophone West Africa - Public Policy

1 week ago• Abuja, Nigeria

Responsibilities

The Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa Public Policy team leads the company's engagement with governments, policymakers, civil society, and opinion leaders across a wide range of strategically important markets. We represent the company on high-profile political, legislative, and regulatory issues, and help external stakeholders understand how our products work and the safeguards behind them.

The region spans very different political systems and regulatory traditions, so the same issue rarely looks the same in two markets. We shape and advocate for practical solutions to emerging technology challenges, working toward a policy environment that supports innovation, growth, and long-term business success.

You will take part in some of the most consequential policy conversations shaping the future of the business, with direct impact on how users, creators, and communities across the region experience our platforms.

We are looking to hire a dynamic and agile Government Relations and Public Policy Manager to cover our Government Relations efforts in English speaking West Africa, with an initial focus on Nigeria and Ghana. The ideal candidate must be a strategic thinker and a strong team player with the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing environment. The candidate must have a good understanding of the region's public policy challenges, political systems, institutions, and cultural landscape; and, solid networks and relationships with policy-makers, multilateral agencies, academia, and civil society stakeholders in the West Africa region.
