Global Music Distribution Operations Lead
Responsibilities
About team:
The TikTok PGC-Music team undertakes a crucial mission, overseeing the production of professional music content on the platform, copyright operations, and the development of a global music ecosystem. The team actively collaborates with musicians and copyright holders to create hit music content, covering music library development, content planning, hit content incubation, and ecosystem operations. Additionally, it optimizes content strategies through data-driven approaches, builds global music content barriers, and drives continuous upgrades of the platform's music ecosystem.
- Lead global music distribution operations across all markets, ensuring consistency, accuracy and reliability.
- Develop and evolve scalable operational frameworks to support multi-region distribution workflows.
- Define and track KPIs to improve operational efficiency, turnaround times and quality standards.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to enhance tooling, automation and system capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with DSP partners and global distribution stakeholders at senior levels.
- Oversee governance across distribution operations, royalty workflows, publishing pipelines, content safety and customer service.
- Identify operational risks and lead root-cause analysis and remediation planning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce manual intervention.
- Mentor and support team members while fostering a high-performance operational culture.
- Represent the business line publicly at industry events.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s):
- Significant experience in music distribution, DSPs, digital operations, or music tech environments.
- Strong understanding of DSP delivery standards, policies, metadata frameworks and rights management workflows.
- Pre-established networks across industry content operations, and a deep understanding of challenges within the digital music ecosystem.
- Proven experience managing global or cross-regional operations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and external partners at senior levels within operations, licensing and BD functions.
Preferred Qualification(s):
- Strong analytical and process optimisation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management capabilities, and the ability to confidently represent the division internally and externally.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $125400 - $297920 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
