Global Litigation & Compliance Response Lead - Trust and Safety

We are a global team that handles legally required user appeals submitted through recognized bodies, supports legal reviews and historical moderation investigations, manages reports of illegal content in specific markets, and provides customer support through public intake channels to ensure user and safety-related requests are addressed promptly and professionally. Our operations span multiple regions, with team members based in Malaysia, Ireland, and the United States, enabling us to deliver consistent, around-the-clock coverage and high-quality response across global markets.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Global Lead, Litigation & Compliance Response to lead our cross-regional Trust and Safety team based in Dublin, Ireland, with team members in Malaysia, Ireland, and the United States. In this senior leadership role, you will own the global operating model for litigation and compliance response, drive performance across time zones, and serve as the primary point of contact for senior cross-functional stakeholders across Legal, Policy, Product, and Trust & Safety leadership. You will combine deep subject-matter expertise in regulatory compliance and digital safety with strong people leadership, operational rigor, and the ability to influence at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Team leadership & people management: Lead, mentor, and develop a globally distributed team across Malaysia, Ireland, and the US; set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, support career development, and build a high-performing, inclusive team culture.
- Global process ownership: Own and continuously improve end-to-end global processes for handling regulatory inquiries, legally required user appeals, illegal content reports, and compliance escalations, ensuring consistency, quality, and auditability across all regions.
- Strategic oversight: Provide strategic direction on responding to regulatory inquiries, compliance risks, and legal obligations globally (with particular focus on Europe), and translate evolving regulatory requirements into operational priorities and roadmaps for the team.
- Cross-timezone coordination: Establish operating rhythms, coverage models, and handover practices that enable seamless 24/7 coverage and balanced workload distribution across the Malaysia, Ireland, and US sites.
- Stakeholder management: Act as the primary senior point of contact for Legal, Policy, Product and Trust & Safety leadership; represent the function in cross-functional forums and influence decisions with data-driven insights.

- Escalation handling: Serve as the senior escalation point for high-risk, high-sensitivity, or precedent-setting matters; exercise sound judgment and ensure timely, well-reasoned responses to regulators, law enforcement, and internal leadership.
- Strategic input into compliance frameworks: Contribute to the design and evolution of global compliance frameworks, risk-containment strategies, and policy positions; identify emerging trends in content safety, privacy, and digital regulation and ensure the company stays ahead of compliance risks.
- Operational excellence & reporting: Define KPIs, SLAs, and quality standards; oversee preparation of reports, dashboards, and documentation that support regulatory responses, internal governance, and executive reviews.
- Risk management: Partner closely with legal, policy, and trust & safety teams to assess regulatory risks, design mitigation plans, and ensure regional safety and compliance requirements are consistently met.
This is a permanent, full-time senior leadership role based in Dublin, Ireland, with responsibility for a global team distributed across Malaysia, Ireland, and the United States. Some flexibility outside standard Dublin business hours will be required to coordinate effectively across time zones.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Law, Compliance, Risk Management, Political Science, or a related field.
- Significant experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, trust & safety, legal operations, or a related field, preferably within the tech industry, including substantial experience at a senior or lead level.
- Demonstrated people management or team lead experience, including managing distributed or globally dispersed teams, conducting performance management, and developing talent.
- Proven track record of owning global processes and driving operational excellence across multiple regions and time zones.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering with Legal, Policy, Product, and senior leadership stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of EU digital regulations, content moderation laws, and online safety frameworks (e.g., DSA), with awareness of comparable regimes in other key markets.
- Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence; able to represent the function to internal leadership and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience leading or managing teams in global operations, Trust & Safety, compliance, or legal response functions.
- Direct experience working with regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, or external counsel on cross-border matters.
- Experience designing or scaling compliance frameworks, escalation models, or response playbooks for a global organization.
- Experience operating in matrixed environments and influencing without direct authority across regions and functions.
