Global Head of Policy, Interactions - Trust and Safety
Responsibilities
The Trust & Safety team is dedicated to making our platform a safe and welcoming place for everyone. We are looking for a Global Head of Policy - Interactions to lead the strategy and execution of safety standards for our high-engagement surfaces: Comments and Direct Messaging (DMs).
As the Head of Global Policy - Interactions, you will be a key organizer, influencer, and subject matter expert, guiding your team to strike the right balance between mitigating harm and enabling expression. You will provide strategic leadership across the company, championing user safety and well-being while ensuring policies are globally consistent yet locally relevant.
This is a product policy leadership role, not a purely compliance function. You will serve as the critical bridge between policy conception and technical execution, collaborating directly with Product and Engineering to transition our safety standards into an AI-first moderation era. Your leadership will directly impact the quality and efficiency of moderation systems, ensuring policies are actionable, scalable, and optimized for technical integration.

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Product Alignment
- Develop safety strategy: Identify and anticipate product and content safety risks for Comments and DMs, leveraging solutions to effectively address risks by optimizing policy iteration and implementation procedures;
- Product-Policy integration: Work closely with product teams to promote community well-being and user safety through the optimization of product safety features and product strategy. Translate abstract policy principles into concrete technical requirements and system design inputs;
- Lifecycle management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of policy implementation ensuring adherence to T&S standards while solving critical operational bottlenecks.
Leadership & Team Management
- Team development: Lead and develop a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative global policy team, fostering a culture of rigorous analysis and operational excellence;
- Cross-functional collaboration: Drive alignment across diverse stakeholders (Ops, Product, Legal) to execute high-impact policy cascades;
- Execution rigor: Lead a team of specialists to achieve deployment speed and precision, ensuring that policy intent is preserved as it moves from written text to AI models and human moderation queues.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Law, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in policy operations, product policy, Trust & Safety, or program management within technology or content moderation sectors.
- People management: Experience leading and scaling global, high-performing teams.
- Product Fluency: Proven track record of working directly with Product, Engineering, and AI/ML teams to turn policy requirements into practical, technical solutions. Deep understanding of content moderation workflows and AI-driven policy tools.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of the Trust & Safety ecosystem and major policy domains, including Hate Speech, Harassment, Misinformation, and Abuse/Exploitation.
- Strategic Capability: Proven track record of designing scalable processes and driving alignment across diverse teams (e.g. Policy, Product, Engineering, Operations).
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex policy concepts into actionable plans for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Business Acumen: Deep understanding of the content ecosystem and business landscape, with the ability to balance compliance requirements, operational feasibility, and user experience.
- Innovation: Experience in designing or scaling an experimental policy framework or implementing process transformations in fast-paced environments.
- Global Complexity: Experience navigating global legal, regulatory, and cultural complexity in a leadership capacity.
