Global Head of Long-Term Containment, Trust & Safety
Responsibilities
About the team
The Long-Term Containment team sits in the "Contain" phase of the risk lifecycle. While our Response teams optimize for speed and near-term risk reduction, Long-Term Containment optimizes for thoroughness - the implementation of durable enforcement work that prevents the same harm from resurfacing. The team owns sustained enforcement on the platform's most persistent and high-severity harms, and feeds its insights upstream to Prevention teams to drive root-cause remediation.
About the Role
As the Global Head of Long-Term Containment, you own the strategy, performance, and people of the entire Long-Term Containment function. You lead a global organization of leaders - each running a dedicated team of analysts responsible for tackling Hateful and Harassment Behavior, Violent Extremism, Youth Safety, and High-Risk Regulated Activities and Account Integrity.

This is a leader-of-leaders role. You set the global containment strategy across all prioritised harm verticals, decide where the organization invests its enforcement capacity, and are accountable for the outcomes that define the team: fewer repeat escalations, lower issue prevalence, lower discoverability, and durable enforcement that holds over time. Your team is responsible for converting escalation signals into broad, lasting mitigations rather than one-off actions.
You represent Long-Term Containment to senior Trust & Safety leadership and to cross-functional partners across Policy, Product, Operations, and Data Science, and to external safety organizations and industry bodies where relevant.
Responsibilities
- Own the global long-term containment strategy across all prioritised harm verticals -e.g. Hateful and Harassment Behavior, Violent Extremism and Dangerous Actors, Youth Safety, and High-Risk Regulated Activities and Account Integrity
- Lead, develop, and grow a team of leaders who each manage a team of individual contributor analysts; coach your leaders, build the bench, and hold a consistent bar for performance and delivery across regions.
- Drive delivery for the function's headline outcomes, escalation reduction, prevalence, discoverability, and recidivism, and ensure the team is on track.
- Own and evolve the Long-Term Containment operating model, including the trend-led containment cycle, so escalation signals are expanded into long term mitigations rather than handled ticket by ticket.
- Partner with the Prevention teams to close the containment gaps their root cause analyses surface. Feed enforcement insight and signals back upstream to drive systemic, root-cause fixes across Policy, Product, and Operations.
- Represent the team to senior leadership, cross-functional partners, and external safety organizations and coalitions, shaping risk-mitigation strategy at scale and securing the alignment and resources the function needs.
- Drive operational rigor across roadmap, OKRs, and headcount planning, and champion the well-being, resilience, and well being best practices of a team exposed to sensitive content.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, Risk, or adjacent integrity domains
- 5+ years of experience managing managers and leading larger organisations across multiple regions.
- Demonstrated experience owning enforcement or risk strategy across several harm areas at scale, with a clear record of shipping systemic, long-term mitigations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, align cross-functional teams, and represent a function to external partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong data fluency, with the ability to partner with Data Science, Product and Engineering teams and to set the metrics and measurement approach while also driving our tooling roadmap.
- Experience building or scaling a Trust & Safety, enforcement, or investigations organization - hiring leaders, standing up operating models, and standardizing methodology across regions.
- Direct experience across two or more of the team's harm domains - organized hate and harassment, violent extremism and dangerous organizations, youth safety, or regulated activities and account integrity - with clear accountability for durable outcomes rather than ticket-level handling.
- Demonstrated experience embedding AI and LLM tooling into Trust & Safety workflows, with measurable gains in analyst throughput, enforcement precision, or detection of adversarial content.
