The Trust & Safety (T&S) team at TikTok helps ensure that our global online community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

About the role
The Trust & Safety Future Leaders Program is an 18-24 months, structured development journey designed to intentionally build the accelerated future-leader T&S business capabilities.
The program accelerates early-career talent through hands-on rotations, formal training, mentorship, and real business ownership, preparing them to lead in complex & high-impact Trust & Safety Business Functions.
1. Participants will:
- Work on real Trust & Safety business challenges impacting users and platforms
- Develop core competencies, business knowledge & leadership skills
- Build future-ready capabilities through job rotations in main business functions: Operations - Policy - Regional Safety & Risk Response - Generative AI & Emerging Products:
A. Policy
-Develop clear, operable global policies that balance harm prevention and freedom of expression across ByteDance products.
-Represent policy positions to regional stakeholders, ensuring market context is incorporated into high-harm policy areas.
-Improve creator experience by strengthening policy accuracy and enforceability across human review, sweeps, automated systems, and LLMs, with emphasis on the most prevalent harms.
B. Operations
-Drive best-in-class content moderation operations and quality.
-Translate business demands into scalable and efficient processes implemented across the operations teams.
-Develop industry-leading psychological health programs for Trust & Safety and promote positive workplace conditions.
C. Regional Safety & Risk Response:
-Inspire, preserve, and sustain trust with societal stakeholders.
-Anticipate and prevent ban risks, fines, and litigation.
-Prevent risks and regrettable escalations during high-risk events and civic processes.
-Contain risks during unexpected crises and escalations.
-Build trust with regulators, law enforcement, and governments; uphold digital rights and privacy obligations.
-Detect and prevent real-world harm by escalating and reporting extreme-risk content (including CSAM/CSEA).
D. Generative AI & Emerging Products
-Build and execute a world-class safety, testing, and risk management system to ensure ByteDance's GenAI & Emerging Products innovations are launched safely and responsibly.
-Ensure all ByteDance GenAI & EP features and products are launched with industry-leading safety and fairness, supported by robust and efficient risk evaluation.
-Oversee GenAI labeling and Emerging Products content moderation, upholding moderation quality across all in-house and BPO sites while balancing quality, efficiency, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.

3. Selection Process:
-Resume Screening (Jan 5 - Feb 15, 2026): A comprehensive review of your experience and achievements to assess your suitability for the role and alignment with our key requirements.
-Virtual Interview (5 Jan - 6 March, 2026): Chat with our Talent Acquisition/HR Business Partner and business team.
-Assessment Centre (12 - 14 March, 2026) - Tackle real-world business scenarios to demonstrate your analytical thinking, data interpretation skills, and business acumen in the T&S landscape.
-Onboarding Date: 18 May 2026

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Policy, Law, Business, Operations, Data, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Sound judgment, integrity, and ability to work with harmful or ambiguous issues.
- High learning agility, resilience, and interest in social media contents.
- Have the ability to handle or deal with harmful content.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in Policy, Law, Business, Operations, Data, Social Sciences, or Trust & Safety related fields.
- Strong reasoning, writing, and ethical judgment.
- Strong execution mindset, data-driven, process-oriented.
- Have the ability maintain composure under pressure, risk-aware, make decisions quickly and effectively.
