Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, iteration, and delivery of TikTok's audio and video creation experiences, exploring AI-powered video editing, content generation, visual effects, and new creative workflows.
- Develop features for the TikTok client across Android, iOS, and other platforms, using AI coding tools to work across platforms and technology stacks.
- Deliver end-to-end features spanning client-side development, backend APIs, data processing, and AI capability integration.
- Explore the use of AI coding throughout the software development lifecycle-including requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, debugging, testing, and code review-to continuously improve engineering productivity and delivery quality.
- Help productionize AI agents for audio and video creation, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, compatibility, security, and user experience.
- Contribute to client architecture and engineering infrastructure, including modularization, cross-platform frameworks, audio/video capabilities, build tooling, development workflows, and developer productivity.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, machine learning engineers, backend engineers, and QA teams. With mentorship and guidance, analyze and solve key technical challenges and drive high-quality product delivery.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures and algorithms, operating systems, computer networks, and software engineering.
- Proficiency in at least one mainstream programming language, such as Swift, Kotlin, Java, Objective-C, C/C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Go.
- Strong interest in client-side development and audio/video creation products, with a willingness to work across Android, iOS, backend systems, and other technical domains to solve real-world problems.
- Enthusiasm for AI-assisted software development, with the ability to use AI effectively for coding, debugging, and technical exploration-and the judgment to critically validate AI-generated output.
- Strong commitment to code quality, analytical problem-solving, and continuous learning, with the initiative to take ownership and drive issues to resolution.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and product-thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with AI coding tools, including independently delivering a complete project or complex feature with AI assistance.
- Experience with AI agents, workflow orchestration, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, or large language model application development.
- Experience with Android, iOS, Flutter, React Native, Kotlin Multiplatform, or other client-side or cross-platform technologies.
- Experience with audio/video capture, editing, playback, rendering, effects, encoding and decoding, or export pipelines; familiarity with technologies such as FFmpeg, OpenGL, Metal, or Skia.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects, participating in technical competitions, building personal products, or creating complete, demonstrable projects.
