Extreme Risk Operations Lead, EMEA - Trust & Safety
Responsibilities
About the team:
The Extreme Risk Operations (ERO) team minimizes user harm by delivering industry-leading response times in reviewing and assessing Livestream content for extreme risks. The team conducts risk assessments of videos and comments, and identifies medium/high severity risks, interrupts livestreams where necessary, performs policy enforcement actions, and escalates extreme risks to Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Child Safety (CST) teams for further investigation.
About the role:
As the EMEA regional ERO Lead, you will be responsible for real-time containment of the most severe and time-sensitive platform risks. You will support the long-term strategy for extreme risk detection, livestream intervention, and systemic risk mitigation, ensuring operational scalability, regulatory compliance, and global consistency in enforcement standards.
You will work closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure that extreme risks are mitigated swiftly and in alignment with regulatory obligations, including the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).
This role requires exceptional judgment, operational discipline, and the ability to lead high-volume, high-severity teams in fast-paced and dynamic environments.

It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role and in response to escalations. Some content viewed may include graphic violence, suicide and self-harm, child exploitation, terrorism, and other disturbing material.
What will I be doing?
- You will lead a team of Emergency Risk Operations Specialists responsible for reviewing and assessing time-critical extreme risk escalations.
- Ensure operational excellence in the assessment of extreme risk cases, including threats of violence, suicide and self-harm and child safety incidents in accordance with policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the team's daily operational performance, ensuring strong quality, response time, and escalation standards are maintained.
- You will manage multiple projects of moderate to high complexity and scope. Work cross-functionally to ensure coordination and alignment on objectives and key results.
- There will be a necessity to work on escalations and handle sensitive content that includes child sexual abuse and exploitation, suicide and self harm, terrorism and other content that may be considered offensive or disturbing.
- You will enhance our operational workflows via process improvements and the identification of automation opportunities. Drive innovation regarding processes and best practices for implementing policies.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members through performance management, skills development, and career growth planning. Promote team wellbeing and resilience when working with sensitive and potentially disturbing content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to inform, influence, support and execute improvements to policies and procedures.
- This role is based in Dublin and you are required to be in the office 5 x days each week
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in Trust & Safety, investigations, crisis response, or related operational environments and working across cross functional team
- At least 2 years of experience in leadership and managing teams responsible for safety operations, investigations, or high-risk escalations.
- Experience reviewing or managing sensitive content involving extreme risk scenarios such as violence, suicide/self-harm, or child sexual abuse and exploitation content.
- Experience in managing projects from beginning to end and devising team strategies.
- Excellent decision making and ability to analyze information to assess threat and risk in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate and influence effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and to clearly articulate risk assessments and operational insights.
- This position is part of a team that provides 24/7 support and requires working scheduled shifts, which may include weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading crisis response during high-risk incidents.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams to improve detection models and automation.
- Experience with social media and analytical tools.
