Engineering Manager, Global E-Commerce

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:
- Own the development of core e-commerce experiences, and develop scalable backend systems and services that support high-traffic, global user experiences at TikTok scale.
- Build systems that enable rapid iteration on user acquisition, engagement, and retention features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, data science, marketing) to translate growth opportunities into scalable technical solutions.
- Contribute hands-on to system design, architecture decisions, and critical technical implementations.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supporting their technical growth and day-to-day execution.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture focused on ownership and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or above degree in Computer Science or related fields from accredited and reputable institutions.
- 3+ years of management or tech lead manager experience.
- Experience in either backend or frontend engineering is acceptable, with strong learning agility and the ability to expand across the stack, including leveraging AI-assisted development tools.
- Background in user growth or growth-related work with strong business and data intuition.
- 5+ years of experience building and scaling large-scale production systems.
- Proven experience with Data Structures and Algorithms.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leading a full-stack team.
- E-commerce industry background preferred.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $244800 - $450000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
