Data Scientist Intern (TikTok Integrity and Safety) - 2026 Start (BS/MS)

Responsibilities

Join our team and leverage the power of data science to directly safeguard content, users, and privacy on TikTok. You will provide critical data-driven insights for platform responsibility and safety initiatives, including video content safety, live content safety, account security, privacy compliance, and moderation platforms, ultimately enhancing the safety experience for millions of users worldwide.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2026. Internships at TikTok aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Watch your ambitions become reality as your inspiration brings infinite opportunities at TikTok.

Successful candidates must be able to commit to either of the following Internships:
- From May to August (onboard by 11 May 2026)

- Assist in designing and maintaining core indicator systems for platform content security and risks, including content violations, user feedback, account risks, etc.; Participate in building monitoring and anomaly attribution systems, learning to quickly identify and analyze security incidents.
- Learn to apply statistical scientific methods, including A/B testing, causal inference.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s)
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science etc relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Familiar with common statistical analysis methods, proficient in SQL, Python/R, and other programming languages, with preference for those with data processing and analysis experience.
- Excellent logical thinking, strong problem analysis and solving skills, good communication and collaboration abilities, passionate about challenges.
- Sensitive to numbers, enthusiastic about security risk analysis work, believing in the value of data-driven decisions.

Preferred Qualification(s)
- Good communication skills, team spirit, and proactive attitude.
- Understanding of machine learning, causal inference, A/B testing methods and principles, with preference for those with internship experience in internet companies.
- Ability to quickly learn new knowledge and skills, passionate about solving complex problems.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, with high awareness of data security and privacy protection.
