About the Team
As a Data Scientist in TikTok's Trust and Safety team, you will drive data-inspired decisions and form roadmaps in ensuring that TikTok Video remains a safe, trustworthy, and risk-free environment. By implementing your domain knowledge, you will help diagnose, triage, and treat large-scale safety issues. You will scope out projects, use ground-truth data to inform strategies, and influence product design. You will partner with a variety of stakeholders across the product, operations, policy, algorithm, and engineering teams - both locally and globally. You will work with stakeholders to implement strategies and design products to proactively detect and disarm safety incidents, while protecting the creator experience with great efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive indicator system and quantitative evaluation framework to assess the effectiveness of risk control strategies, and continuously optimize the evaluation methods to accurately track risk control capabilities
- Lead strategic planning by analyzing industry trends, competition landscape, and internal data, and translate insights into actionable business plans to enhance platform security and policy execution efficiency
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve business objectives through data-driven approaches, such as monitoring the impact of strategies on risk control capabilities, using statistical methods to establish an efficient decision-making system, and standardizing reusable analysis methods and tools to improve team efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, align priorities, communicate data-driven recommendations, and drive execution to promote the adoption and practice of a data-driven culture at the organizational level.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in mathematics, computer science, statistics, engineering, or related fields, with a strong foundation in statistics, Hypothesis Testing theory, and experimental design
- Has experience in quantifying complex problems, can use statistical methods to find answers under the influence of multiple factors, such as experimental design, causal inference, etc.; is proficient in using Data Analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, and Tableau
- 2 years or more of experience in data science-related industries, is familiar with the design of success metrics and A/B testing, and has a deep understanding of the risks associated with Globalization products
- Ability to translate technical analysis results into clear strategic recommendations and has successful experience in driving cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Has network detection capabilities and can collaborate with engineering and product teams to design scalable risk identification processes
- Has a sensitivity to the company's products and the technological development trends of related industries, and possesses strong macro-analysis and decision-making capabilities
