Creative Design Intern (TikTok-Design) - 2027 Start

Responsibilities

TikTok Design Team is to provide first-class user experience for hundreds of millions of users around the world, thereby helping them create and express better, discover the diversity and beauty of the world, break down more barriers, and build bridges between people. We are an international design team with Product Designer, Creative Designer, Visual Designer, Content Designer and Localization Expert from all over the world working together to make every impossible possible.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship. Our internship program offers students hands-on experience, industry exposure, and opportunities to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for personal and professional growth.
Interns will gain practical experience, explore potential career paths, and participate in social events, learning programs, and development workshops alongside industry professionals.
Candidates may apply to a maximum of two positions across Our Company and its affiliates globally. Applications will be considered in the order they are submitted.

- Own product design for TikTok's short-video, live streaming, and local services offerings across C- and B-side experiences.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data teams to drive design iterations, generate creative ideas, and deliver optimal solutions.
- Continuously improve UX by tracking global design trends, user behaviors, pain points, and aesthetic preferences.
- Support design implementation, using Vibe Coding to collaborate with engineering on fidelity and basic style adaptation issues.
- Apply AI tools to boost design efficiency, translate design needs into clear technical specs, and streamline design-development collaboration.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an Undergraduate, Master's, or PhD degree in Fine Arts, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Strong aesthetic sensibility and the ability to translate ideas into compelling visuals. Proficiency in design and AI tools such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and C4D.
- Awareness of global design trends and emerging technologies; ability to work across multiple styles and contribute to innovation and efficiency initiatives.
- Highly self-motivated with a hands-on approach and a strong learning mindset-values reflection, summarization, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; optimistic and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about visual design, intellectually curious, and possesses a global perspective.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or project experience in creative design (campaigns, branding, or product visuals).
- Familiarity with AIGC tools such as Midjourney or Stable Diffusion, with practical experience applying them to design work.
- Strong skills in illustration, motion graphics, or 3D design.
