Responsibilities

Team Introduction:
The Billing and Collections team at TikTok LATAM, based in Mexico, is responsible for managing the region's Billing Operations from end to end , ensuring timely Invoice Creation, Invoice Delivery and Invoice Reconciliation as well as Collections Operations efficiency for our customers across Latin America to maintain a healthy accounts receivable portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. We work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate financial risks, improve cash flow, and strengthen internal controls related to billing, payments, and receivables management. Through proactive analysis and collaboration, we help sustain a strong control environment and ensure operational excellence across the region.

Position Summary:
TikTok is seeking a stellar Senior Collections Specialist to join our Mexico office. In this role, you will handle AR related activities and improve debt collection processes in the LATAM region, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
- Prioritize reducing overdue rate and DSO as the primary goal. Drive continuous optimization of accounts receivable efficiency through effective collection strategies, and cross-functional collaboration to safeguard the company's cash flow health.
- Debt Collection & Receivables Management. Execute debt collection activities for an assigned customer portfolio in the designated regions. Negotiate and secure customer repayment agreements while monitoring action plan progress. For persistent non-payment cases, execute service suspension in accordance with TikTok's agreed disconnection procedures.
- Relationship builder: Provide ongoing consultation and support to our key clients and stakeholders on questions related to TikTok's collections policies and processes.
- Billing & Invoicing issues solving : Support monthly billing issue resolution to ensure timely and accurate invoicing to customers; follow up with clients to secure on-time payment; respond to client disputes and information requests.
- Financial Clause Review : Review financial terms in customer contracts with focus on payment conditions, refund processes, and top-up rules to ensure compliance with company financial policies.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Act as the point of contact and trusted financial partner to Sales leadership and Sales Support teams, utilizing data-driven insights to influence financial policies, drive disciplined collection behaviors, and safeguard TikTok's cash flow objectives. Including internal team meetings, cross-functional collaboration, bad debt reporting, collection agency coordination, and interdepartmental communication to support client service and business needs.
- Departmental Alignment & Process Optimization : Maintain effective liaison with Sales, Operations, and Finance departments; recommend process improvements to mitigate credit risk and reduce DSO.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Fluent English (written and spoken) is the working language , which is essential for supporting TikTok's global collaboration and daily communication with the headquarters and cross-functional teams where English is the primary working language.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in collections or accounts receivable, with a strong track record in managing overdue accounts and familiarity with the digital advertising industry is a plus.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations and drive timely payments.
- Demonstrated business judgment and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
