Backend Software Engineer (AI Coding) - TikTok Live Revenue

Responsibilities

We are looking for passionate and talented engineers to join us to build up and optimize a real-time, high-performance, large-scale distributed infrastructure for live streaming at TikTok. We will be deeply involved in the developmental lifecycle of critical product features, and collaborate closely with product managers to deliver the best live streaming experience for live streamers and viewers.
TikTok Live revenue engineering team is responsible for building the cutting-edge revenue ecosystem which includes gifting and other revenue features that are innovative, secure and intuitive for our users. As an important member of the engineering team, you will build solutions that affect millions of users and live streamers.
With the rapid advancement of AI technology, we are actively exploring the application of AI Coding to enhance R&D efficiency and empower business capabilities. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about AI and have solid backend skills to build the next-generation intelligent development ecosystem.
You will:
- Plan and lead large-scale technical projects to lay the foundation for the iterative development and scale of revenue products
- Develop robust, efficient technology products that serve billions of users with high availability and performance
- Build skill-friendly internal AI Coding products, implement LLM/RAG/Agent technologies to help business teams establish best practices for AI-assisted development
- Apply AI technologies to optimize existing business systems, continuously research cutting-edge AI Coding trends and drive technical innovation

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Solid computer science fundamentals, proficient in at least one backend language (Go/Python/Java), with experience in distributed systems and common databases/middleware
- Continuously follow global AI community trends, maintain curiosity for emerging technologies, and conduct in-depth research on challenging technical problems
- Familiar with AI technology ecosystem, with development experience in Prompt Engineering, LLM, AI Agent, multimodal, RAG, Memory, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong grasp of business architecture, system design, and backend service patterns at scale
- Experience with AI Coding tools such as IDE extensions, AI Agents, or CLI-based assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, OpenCode)
- Deep understanding of how to implement AI Coding practices within engineering teams, with insights on adoption strategies and best practices
