Athlete Manager, TikTok Operations
Responsibilities
About the team:
Creators and Athletes are the heart and soul of Sports on TikTok. The Creator team's mission is to facilitate our Creator and Athlete community's growth and development, drive high quality content production and increase Athlete engagement and product adoption through scaled content and education programs.
The Athlete Manager will be part of the larger North American Creator team responsible for onboarding and managing Athletes for North America (NA) on TikTok, developing and championing best practices in management to support adaptation across all regions. This role will report into the Head of NA Sports Creator team , whose remit includes onboarding, relationship building and best-in-class management of top athletes and agencies. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the sports industry and bring first-hand expertise about working with Athletes and/or Agents in the NA market.
Responsibilities are broken down into two buckets
Onboarding:
- Review, select and onboard eligible athletes based on centrally aligned eligibility criteria, alignment to business priorities while also considering exception criteria, content priorities, reactive opportunities, and portfolio capacity
- Brainstorm strategies to onboard Athletes of different priority levels including, but not limited to, incorporating industry best practices, utilizing TikTok product features (either existing or to-be-developed) and developing onboarding incentives with XFN teams
- Manage onboarding and verification workflows to ensure a seamless and timely experience for athletes joining the platform.
Ongoing Management:
- Deliver ongoing account support for athletes, including resolving platform issues, managing verification requests, and ensuring a smooth and high-quality user experience.
- Support the day-to-day operations of athlete partnership programs by coordinating contracts, payments, deliverables, and account setup.
- Maintain organized documentation, trackers, and reporting tools to monitor program status, timelines, and deliverable completion across multiple athlete cohorts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to support program execution, approvals, communications, and reporting needs.
- Provide administrative, operational, and logistical support for large-scale athlete initiatives and sports-related activations.
- Host athletes in person and/or online to share best practices, vertical content strategies, and product updates as well as answer questions and foster connections
- Use dashboards and automated weekly reports to understand portfolio performance and build data-informed content strategies to educate athletes on relevant new product features and tools using resources from the Creator Development Team.
- Share first-hand expertise and collect feedback and needs from the Athlete pool to share with XFN teams including Product, Creator Research, Content Strategy & Policy, Publishers Pillar, and TikTok Overall. Establish and support feedback loops.
- Monitor any urgent or repeat issues facing managed athletes related to their on-platform content performance. Partner with XFN to understand and advocate for regional account support needs and feedback

- Identify key case studies and examples from managed athletes in the NA region to be highlighted in education initiatives and creator campaigns
- Collaborate with key cross-functional partners, especially Marketing, GBS, and Product teams
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years working experience focused on the Athletes and content ecosystem, ideally with experience in the sports industry at other top content, entertainment and social media/influencer platforms or agencies / companies
- Strong track record of working across teams, organizational structures, geographies to drive impact
- Exceptional Athlete/partner management capabilities
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exemplary interpersonal, analytical and communications skills.
- Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment as a consensus builder across disparate business units with occasionally conflicting KPIs
- MS/MA/MBA considered a plus
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $79200 - $182400 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
