Senior Producer, China
Reuters is looking for a Senior Video Producer to manage our coverage from China.
The successful candidate will lead a high-profile, high-performing team of journalists based in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong.
You should have significant experience in video and a thorough understanding of other visual story telling formats. You will lead a team covering the full range of news - from natural disasters and business, through politics to sport, lifestyle and entertainment.
You will be required to be flexible and deal with a fast-moving news agenda which can involve unsociable hours as well as travel at short notice for breaking news.

About the Role
In this opportunity as Senior Producer, China, you will:
- Lead teams covering events of international interest in China starting from the planning phase through to the production phase.
- Keep abreast of a fast-moving news file in the region.
- Establish a rapport with colleagues in the bureau across all media.
- Pro-actively assist in the rollout and training of the latest visuals news gathering and production tools.
- Inspire staff and contractors across all media to produce their best breaking news and storytelling work.
- Be customer-focused and pitch story ideas which travel well for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Mentor and train junior members of the team.
- Ensure all work abides by the Reuters Trust Principles.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Producer, China if your background includes:
- At least 5 years' experience in professional journalism in a broadcast or agency environment.
- Excellent news judgment and a solid track record of working in a breaking news environment.
- Strong video editing and script writing skills
- Solid visual story telling skills and English story writing skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure tight deadlines, many times unsupervised.
- Superb planning and prioritization skills.
- Experience or the desire to work and manage teams in hostile environments.
- Ability to lead and develop diverse teams.
- Fluent English and Mandarin a must. Any additional Asian language is a bonus.
