Why This Role Matters
The technology category is The Washington Post's largest advertising revenue generator, and we are seeking a seasoned, strategic sales leader to accelerate growth in this high-priority area while expanding opportunities in manufacturing and health. The B2B Sector Director will own the sales strategy, client engagement, and advertising revenue performance for these sectors, securing large-scale, AI-integrated partnerships that showcase The Washington Post's innovation in advertising, branded content, live experiences, and data storytelling.
Leading a team of six high-performing Client Partners across the U.S., this sales leader will be accountable for delivering revenue growth, building new business pipelines, opening new doors with C-suite decision-makers, and expanding The Post's share-of-wallet with top accounts - all while developing the next generation of sales talent.

- Lead the strategy and execution to exceed annual advertising revenue targets for the technology, manufacturing, and health sectors.
- Build and implement sector-specific sales plans to uncover new opportunities, maximize value from existing clients, and develop multi-year, high-value partnerships integrating branded content, live event s, editorial, creators , research, and AI-powered targeting.
- Cultivate and expand senior-level relationships with C level decisions makers and agency executives, serving as the senior point of contact for The Post's most valuable technology accounts to strengthen retention, influence long-term strategy, and grow share-of-wallet.
- Identify, prospect, and close new accounts in high-growth technology categories to broaden The Post's client base and accelerate revenue growth.
- Partner with agencies and clients to align The Post's solutions with brand objectives, ensuring measurable results, client satisfaction, and high retention.
- Position The Washington Post as the go-to media partner for B2B brands by showcasing innovative, AI-driven capabilities and representing the brand at major advertising, technology, and industry events.
- Collaborate with product, data, and creative teams to design bespoke advertising solutions leveraging audience intelligence, premium journalism, and storytelling formats to achieve client objectives.
- Manage, mentor, and inspire six Client Partners, fostering a competitive, collaborative, high-performance sales culture and providing coaching and development opportunities to help early-career sellers become top performers.

Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years in advertising sales, strategic partnerships, or business development, ideally within technology, manufacturing, or health.
- At least 4 years of proven management experience, with a track record of being an exceptional leader who develops high-performing sales teams.
- Proven record of exceeding revenue targets and securing multi-million-dollar advertising partnerships.
- Extensive network of senior client and agency relationships in the technology, manufacturing and health categories.
- Experience selling integrated campaigns combining content, creative, live events, social, research, and data-driven media.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a history of managing and inspiring sales teams.
- Experience with AI-driven advertising solutions and audience targeting.
- Track record of building category-specific sales strategies that deliver sustained growth.
- Familiarity with B2B marketing trends and evolving digital media landscapes.
- Strong executive-level presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.

The salary range for this position is:
$144,480 - $268,320 Annual
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
