Our Organization:

The Stores Delivery Common Services function provides foundational services to product teams and shared service partners, enabling secure and efficient software delivery to stores. Our mission is to drive innovation and operational excellence across global store products by integrating deployment, testing, performance engineering, labs, and automation.

As we expand our capabilities, we are growing our presence in India to include a new focus on Data Analytics and Monitoring. Associates in India will work closely with global teams to mature and scale our services.

What you will do

As a Staff Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead for store deployments across 4000+ stores globally. You will be responsible for driving deployment strategy, improving processes, mentoring engineers, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of store software rollouts. This is a senior-level role that combines deep technical expertise with leadership and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical authority for deployments that span across POS & Payments, Back Office and Loss Prevention for the TJX Stores.
• Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of deployment processes and tools.
• Collaborate with global teams to align deployment strategies and ensure consistency across regions.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, helping grow talent within the team.
• Troubleshoot complex deployment issues and lead root cause analysis and resolution.
• Optimize deployment automation using tools such as Service Now, SCCM, SOTI and Xadmin.
• Work closely with Store systems supporting deployment for systems like Xstore, Xcenter, Xoffice, LP workstations, Verifone Payments, Adyen Payment Solutions, Mobile Devices and Server implementation.
• Contribute to the development of monitoring and validation tools to ensure deployment success.
• Partner with Engineering Managers and Product teams to align on goals and delivery timelines.
• Champion DevSecOps practices and ensure secure, reliable deployment pipelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or deployment, with a strong focus on retail systems.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with POS, Payments systems, Loss Prevention and Back Office solutions in a production environment.
• Proven experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers.
• Deep understanding of retail operations, store systems, and in-store technologies.
• Expertise in deployment tools such as SCCM, SOTI, Xadmin, and VHQ & Payment Gateway Solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Retail Brick & Mortar deployment tools, including performance tuning and scripting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead during high-pressure deployment windows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in global teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with DevOps/CI-CD practices and automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with different POS solution, Payment Gateway and Processing
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Exposure to monitoring and analytics tools is a plus.
