Job Description:
We're seeking a Technical Lead (known internally as a Staff Engineer) to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering modern retail technology solutions. This is a senior individual contributor role with high autonomy, ownership of technical strategy, and influence across multiple portfolios.
What you'll do:
- Lead design and delivery of end‑to‑end applications (UI, APIs, services, data)
- Own epics and act as Lead Engineer on medium-large initiatives
- Define technical strategy and architecture across multiple domains
- Drive DevSecOps, non‑functional requirements, and operability (performance, security, resilience)
- Take hands‑on ownership of complex features and services
- Partner closely with Product, Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and global vendors
- Manage COTS applications across their full lifecycle
- Uplift engineering standards, processes, and best practices

What you bring:
- Senior/lead‑level application development experience
- Proven ability to influence architecture and lead complex initiatives
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in global teams
- Retail, e‑commerce, or FMCG experience (preferred)
- Azure certifications and cloud cost optimisation experience (preferred)
Technical skills:
- Azure: App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage
- Backend/API: .NET Core, C#, REST, event‑driven, Apigee
- Frontend: Blazor, Razor, Telerik
- Data: ADF, SQL (ETL/ELT)
- DevOps: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
- Security: OWASP, ISO27001, IAM, encryption
- Reporting Tools: JIRA, Confluence
