Job Description:
Perform a variety of complex installations, maintenance and repair of on-line electrical mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic equipment systems in two or more specialty areas: electrical, PLC/ Control, HVAC/ refrigeration, etc. May support mechanics on projects or in the absence of supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains safe, efficient and proper operation of variety of Distribution Center equipment and systems.
- Locates and diagnoses complex equipment failures, replaces defective components and performs troubleshooting using a variety of hand, power and test equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specification, etc. to ensure timely corrective action.
- Completes and maintains appropriate maintenance, inventory and repair logs as necessary.
- Estimate costs, prepares requisitions as required and contacts vendors to order parts and services as necessary.
- Recommends, and implements improvements to equipment, operations and procedures.
- May perform duties of all mechanics if necessary.
- Leads and guides other maintenance associate's in safety procedures, installation, maintenance and repairs of equipment and systems.
- Performs special projects or duties as assigned.
- Performs maintenance service in plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and minor construction.
- Proficient in Outlook, CMMS, IRIS, ICW a plus.
- Certified in all Power Equipment Ex: forklift, boom lifts, scissor lifts etc.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and safety devices.
- Problem solver and trouble shooting skills.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC/Controls systems.
- Skilled in reading schematics.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized vocational training with expertise in one or more areas: electrical, PLC/ Controls, HVAC/ refrigeration. etc.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, basic math skills, a must.
- Familiarity with OSHA/NFPA/NEC standards to include the use and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Must maintain safe work practices and housekeeping standards.
- Ability to grasp, bend, lift, or otherwise move items weighing up to 75 pounds
- Five to Seven years experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of equipment including mechanical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisor experience preferred.
- Work various shifts to meet business needs as required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position does require the following tools:
- All tools to be both standard and Metric.
- Complete set of hand tools Sockets, wrenches, Allen keys, channel lock pliers, adjustable wrench, screw drivers.
- Set of Electrical tools: Linesmen, diagonal cutters, strippers, Electrical voltage pen .
- Electrical Multimeter and or combination amp meter.
- Digital or analog calipers.
OTHER FACTORS:
- Frequent exposure to lubricants, chemical vapors, aerosols, and other physical demands requiring certain levels of tolerance for working in adverse conditions i.e., noise, dust, heat, weather conditions is necessary. Starting Pay: $29.00
