Job Description:

We're looking for a(n) Senior HR Specialist, 18‑month contract, who is eager to make a meaningful impact by providing strategic HR advisory support to the business. In this role, you'll work closely with the HR Advisory team to deliver expert guidance, strengthen partnerships, and influence key people decisions. You'll also have the opportunity to lead and support department‑wide initiatives and projects, giving you broad exposure and the chance to shape HR programs that drive organizational success. What You'll Do:

  • Consultation & Guidance: Offers insights on Associate Relations issues, leveraging company policies and Advisory Service tools.
  • Associates Relations: Prepares for and participates in joint meetings between Associates, HR and People Leaders; respond to queries, complaints, and concerns from Associates.
  • Investigations: Supports and documents findings in Associate Relations cases like violence, discrimination and harassment, collaborating with HR Advisory Managers for resolutions.
  • Data Analysis: Creates dashboards, reports, and analyzes trends to provide business insights using Service Now.
  • Collaboration: Maintains strong relationships with HR Business Partners and People Leaders to support business strategies DC leadership and the Union supporting labour strategies. Develops strong partnerships within the larger Advisory team to ensure consistency and standardization while applying processes.
  • Legal Compliance: Stays current with applicable employment and labour law, including legislative changes, case law, along with Associate and Labour Relations practices.

About You:

  • Minimum three (3) years Human Resources experience.
  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or related program or equivalent; HR designation is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Associate Relations and relevant employment related legislation and regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of provincial and federal employment laws and the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
  • Bilingualism is highly preferred, both English and French.
  • Issue management skills including organizational skills; investigative skills; coaching and counseling skills; interpersonal skills including conflict management; and information gathering including active listening skills.
  • Solid organizational skills accompanied by concise written communication with attention to detail in documenting case specifics.
  • Highly collaborative, energetic, and flexible with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, while keeping those involved apprised of developments.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills, with the ability to gain trust and work through others to achieve goals.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, HRIS and case management systems experience preferred.

Salary Range: $74,752.50-$104,653.50 /year *This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
